Requires all grade 11 students in Alaska public schools to complete a career preparedness assessment measuring aptitude in applied mathematics, reading for information, and locating information.

Directs the department to obtain a vendor license at no cost to school districts, provide training and support, and deliver individual student reports based on nationally recognized criteria.

Requires career assessment results to be displayed in summary form on students' high school transcripts and provides assessment data to the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education for financial aid eligibility determination.

Repeals and reenacts secondary student competency testing requirements, mandating examinations in reading, English, and mathematics that conform to state performance standards and measure college readiness.

Removes previous language requiring reporting of students who received diploma waivers from competency examinations; provisions take effect July 1, 2012.
