The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities shall prepare a feasibility study on expanding the Alaska marine highway system to Yukon and Kuskokwim River locations.

The study shall consider the feasibility of using the latest vessel technology in any potential expansion.

The department must deliver the feasibility study to the legislature by August 31, 2011, unless the study is included in a comprehensive long-range plan delivered during 2011.

Amends legislative findings to add that many communities along the Yukon and Kuskokwim Rivers will greatly benefit from regular marine highway transportation service for passengers and freight.
