• Amends AS 11.61.200(b) to change weapon misconduct provisions from an affirmative defense framework to a direct prohibition that does not apply to certain persons.

• Exempts persons from weapon misconduct charges under subsections (a)(1) and (a)(2) or (10) if they received a pardon for the prior offense, had their conviction set aside under AS 12.55.085, or if 10 or more years have elapsed since their prior conviction or juvenile adjudication.

• Requires that exemptions under the 10-year period do not apply if the prior conviction resulted from a violation of AS 11.41 (assault laws) or similar federal or state laws.

• Repeals AS 11.61.200(a)(12), 11.61.200(f), and 11.61.200(g).
