Amends AS 39.05.100 to make persons ineligible for appointment to state boards, commissions, or authorities if they sought nomination or became a candidate for elective state or federal office during the preceding year, unless holding that office is required by law.

Defines a person as having sought nomination or become a candidate if they indicated intent to run under Alaska Public Offices Commission regulations, filed a nominating petition, filed a declaration of candidacy, or campaigned as a write-in candidate.

Repeals AS 39.25.160(e)(8).

Applies the new eligibility restrictions only to board, commission, and authority members who seek nomination or become candidates on or after the effective date of the Act.
