AK HB99

Amends AS 18.50.320 to require the state bureau to issue one certified copy of a death certificate for a deceased veteran without charge to eligible recipients for purposes of satisfying benefits eligibility requirements.

Defines "eligible recipient" as the veteran's surviving spouse, next of kin, relative, heir, devisee, or any administrator, executor, personal representative, beneficiary, conservator, fiduciary, or trustee of the deceased veteran's estate.

Defines "veteran" as an individual who was on active duty at death or received an honorable or general discharge from any branch of U.S. armed forces, Alaska Scouts, Alaska Territorial Guard, Alaska National Guard units, U.S. Coast Guard, or reserve units, and was an Alaska resident at time of death.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment under AS 01.10.070(c).
