• Proclaims April 2009 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Alaska

• Establishes that Alaska has 2.5 times the national average per capita occurrence of sexual assault, the highest in the nation

• Estimates that one in three women, one in four girls, one in six boys, and one in 11 men will be victims of sexual violence

• Recognizes the commitment of service providers to sexual assault survivors and encourages statewide collaboration to prevent sexual assault and support victims and their families
