AK HJR14

Urges the President of the United States to preserve Executive Order 13202 (issued in 2001) to ensure free and open competition for federal and federally funded construction contracts.

Requests that the President and Congress not require construction contractors, bidders, or subcontractors to enter into or adhere to labor organization agreements on federal or federally funded projects.

Requests that the President and Congress not discriminate against contractors based on their status as signatories to or adherence to labor organization agreements.

Asserts that project labor agreements do not ensure on-time, on-budget project completion and reduce employment opportunities for Alaskans in the construction industry.

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the President, Vice President, congressional leadership, and Alaska's federal delegation.
