Alaska State Legislature urges United States Congress to appropriate sufficient funds to the Bureau of Land Management to complete land surveys in Alaska for patent issuance

More than 57,000,000 acres of land awaited patent as of January 31, 2010, including 42,000,000 acres tentatively approved to the state and 15,000,000 acres subject to interim conveyance to Alaska Native corporations

Land surveys are necessary to issue patents to the state and Alaska Native corporations and to determine with certainty what lands are owned by each entity

Alaska was granted more than 103,000,000 acres at Statehood and Alaska Natives were granted more than 44,000,000 acres under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act

Resolution directs copies be sent to President Obama, Vice President Biden, Interior Secretary Salazar, Bureau of Land Management Director, congressional leadership, Alaska congressional delegation, and all members of the 111th United States Congress
