Increases the maximum funeral expenses payable as a workers' compensation death benefit from $5,000 to $10,000.

Allows employees to petition for protective orders to recover medical and rehabilitation information unrelated to their injury, requiring return of such information by the division, board, commission, and parties.

Requires that when medical or rehabilitation information use is limited by board order, parties may only request information within those limits, and any information produced outside the limits must be returned to the employee.

The increased funeral expense benefit applies only to injuries occurring on or after the effective date of the act.

The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
