Department of Motor Vehicles prohibited from issuing a driver's license or instruction permit to first-time applicants unless they provide evidence of completed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid training.

Training requirement applies only to applicants who have never previously held a driver's license or permit in Alaska or any other state.

Acceptable evidence of training must be completed within the one-year period immediately preceding the application and defined by departmental regulation.

Effective date of January 1, 2010.
