Reestablishes the Alaska Commission on the Status of Women in the Office of the Governor with nine members: two from the executive branch and seven public members appointed by the governor.

Commission members must be Alaska residents with at least one public member required to be a household manager with a spouse and child who is not otherwise employed; appointments made on nonpartisan and nondiscriminatory basis considering geographic representation, minority and low-income representation, and diversity of occupations and family statuses.

Commission members serve three-year staggered terms with a six-year consecutive service limit; public members receive per diem and travel allowances but no compensation.

Commission purpose is to improve women's status through research, referral services, and recommendations on education, homemaking, civil and legal rights, and labor and employment issues.

Commission authorized to act as clearinghouse for women's status information, cooperate with agencies on women's issues, compile discrimination data, recommend legislative action, and publish annual reports to the governor and legislature by the 15th day of each regular legislative session.
