SB 87 Summary: No Child Left Uninsured Act

• Creates a new extended medical assistance program for children ages under 19 whose household income is between 200-300 percent of the federal poverty guideline, requiring annual contributions ranging from $240-$1,200 based on income and a 20 percent copayment for those earning between 250-300 percent of poverty guideline.

• Permits assignment of permanent fund dividends to cover annual contributions under the extended medical assistance program.

• Requires the Department of Health and Social Services to adopt regulations to implement these changes, with the Act taking effect July 1, 2010.
