Commends former President George W. Bush and the National Park Service for adopting rules allowing firearms to be carried in national parks for personal protection

Encourages President Barack Obama and the National Park Service to continue and improve the rule allowing park users to carry firearms

Supports removing the requirement that firearms must be concealed in national parks

Cites wildlife threats and life-threatening situations in national parks as justification for allowing armed park users

Directs copies of the resolution to be sent to President Obama, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, the National Park Service director, and Alaska's congressional delegation
