AK HB1

Establishes the Alaska Health Freedom Act, a public policy stating persons have the right to accept or decline any offered mode of obtaining health care services without penalty or threat of penalty.

Defines "mode of obtaining" as either directly purchasing health care services from a health care provider or purchasing insurance to cover health care costs.

Excludes health care services provided or required by the state, political subdivisions, or courts from the policy's application.

Defines "penalty" as fines, taxes, surcharges, fees, or other monetary charges, but excludes liability for the actual cost of health care services.

Does not impair existing contract rights that provide health care services.
