Prohibits municipalities from requiring fire sprinkler systems in new single-family residential buildings or new residential buildings with not more than two dwelling units, unless adopted by ordinance.

Allows municipalities to require sprinkler systems through ordinance adoption, but only after meeting specific procedural requirements including at least 30 days advance notice and at least three public hearings.

Requires public hearings on sprinkler ordinances to be scheduled within a period of not less than 60 days and not more than 180 days.

Applies to both home rule and general law municipalities in Alaska.
