HB 169 Summary

• Amends AS 24.20.105(e) to allow assigned attorneys to consult with the prime sponsor of newly enacted legislation during regulation review if the sponsor remains a legislature member at the time of review.

• Requires assigned attorneys to notify the prime sponsor in writing if proposed regulations implementing newly enacted legislation fail to meet statutory standards.

• Applies retroactively to proposed regulations pending with the Legislative Affairs Agency on the effective date for which the public comment period has not yet expired.

• Takes effect immediately upon enactment under AS 01.10.070(c).
