HB 204 Summary

• Increases small procurement thresholds from $50,000 to $100,000 for supplies and services, from $100,000 to $200,000 for construction, and from 3,000 to 7,000 square feet for leased space.

• Allows bidders and offerors without valid Alaska business licenses at bid opening to provide proof of licensure before contract award, but they do not qualify for Alaska bidder preferences.

• Requires construction contract bidders and offerors to submit proof of contractor registration under AS 08.18 before contract award.

• Permits agencies to accept electronic bids and proposals under the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act and removes the requirement to mail notices to contractor lists.

• Repeals AS 36.30.050 regarding establishment and maintenance of contractor lists, and takes effect immediately.
