HB 21 Summary

• Increases Statewide Suicide Prevention Council membership from 16 to 17 members by adding one governor-appointed public member position

• Changes youth member qualifications from enrolled high school students (grades 9-12) to individuals aged 16-24 years old when appointed

• Adds new governor-appointed member category for persons discharged from, retired from, or actively serving in U.S. military, or mental health providers serving military personnel

• Updates statutory references in AS 44.29.310(a) and (b) to reflect the new member positions (D)-(L) instead of (J)
