HB 250 Summary

• Establishes legislative intent to appropriate $50,000,000 annually to the renewable energy grant fund for the next 10 fiscal years for projects recommended by the Alaska Energy Authority under AS 42.45.045

• Increases the renewable energy advisory committee from seven to nine members, adding two house representatives and two senate members (previously one from each chamber)

• Maintains the five governor-appointed members representing small rural utilities, large urban utilities, Alaska Native organizations, renewable energy businesses/organizations, and the Denali Commission

• Extends the sunset date for AS 42.45.045 from June 30, 2013 to June 30, 2023

• Takes effect immediately upon enactment
