Establishes a Joint Legislative Task Force on Sustainable Education consisting of 6 legislators (3 senators, 3 representatives) and 9 appointed members to examine education standards, funding, and career preparation for grades K-12.

Requires the task force to create a vetting process for education standards before adoption by the state Board of Education and Early Development, propose separate education tracks for vocational and college readiness, and evaluate education assessments including the high school graduation qualifying examination.

Mandates the task force to analyze public education funding adequacy, alternative cost-management approaches, district funding comparisons, and personnel allocation effects by September 30, 2013.

Adopts by reference Alaska's March 2006 content and performance standards for 11 subjects (English/language arts, mathematics, science, geography, government and citizenship, history, skills for a healthy life, arts, world languages, technology, and employability) plus physical education standards as interim standards until new standards are vetted.

Repeals the act on July 1, 2014, and takes effect immediately.
