Proclaims April 2012 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Alaska.

Notes that Alaska has the highest per capita occurrence of sexual assault in the nation at 2.5 times the national average.

Estimates that one in three women, one in four girls, one in six boys, and one in 11 men will report being victims of sexual violence.

Encourages all Alaska citizens to observe the month by speaking out against sexual assault, listening to survivors, and making clear that sexual assault will not be tolerated.

Recognizes the dedication of individuals and agencies that provide services to sexual assault survivors and calls for community-wide efforts to eliminate sexual violence.
