Title insurance companies must conduct reasonable search and examination of titles through a licensed title insurance limited producer before writing a policy or contract of title insurance.

Evidence of title insurability determination must be preserved and retained for at least 15 years, with allowance for reproduction through photographic, microfilm, or other accurate duplication processes.

Title insurance limited producers must be licensed as residents of Alaska and may only be licensed to sell title insurance.

Real estate conveyance documents are prohibited from requiring subsequent grantees or grantors to pay transfer fees, except for loan assumption fees, real estate broker commissions, governmental charges, recording fees, homeowners' association fees, and certain nonprofit organization fees.

Provisions in documents that violate the transfer fee restrictions are void.
