SB 173 Summary

• Removes obsolete effective date references ("on and after July 1, 1997") from AS 18.50.165 regarding paternity acknowledgment forms while maintaining substantive requirements for form contents and legal consequences notification.

• Removes obsolete effective date reference ("beginning after June 30, 1983") from AS 18.56.110(g) regarding bond issuance limitations by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation.

• Removes conditional language from AS 26.05.060 to clarify that the Alaska National Guard and Alaska Naval Militia are subject to all applicable federal laws and regulations.

• Removes the word "municipal" from references in AS 29.60.800 establishing the harbor facility grant fund and related appropriation and expenditure provisions.

• Changes multiple tax code sections (AS 43.20.014, 43.55.019, 43.56.018, 43.65.018, 43.75.018, 43.77.045) to reference a single definition of "school district" in AS 43.20.014 instead of repeating the definition across statutes; removes unnecessary language from AS 42.05.711 regarding renewable energy definitions; removes obsolete language from AS 44.62.190 regarding electronic notification capabilities; repeals AS 21.27.380(f); and takes effect immediately.
