Department of Education and Early Development shall provide state funding to school districts to supplement free and reduced-price lunch and breakfast for eligible students under federal law (42 U.S.C. 1771-1784).

Base funding rates are 15 cents per lunch and 35 cents per breakfast per eligible student, subject to appropriation.

Additional funding per meal is determined by reducing the applicable district cost factor in AS 14.17.460 by 1.0, dividing by four, and rounding to the nearest cent.

Section 1 of the Act is repealed June 30, 2014.

The Act takes effect immediately upon passage.
