AK SB62

Amends AS 37.05.590 to allow the legislature to appropriate up to 25 percent of court filing fees received by the Alaska Court System during the previous fiscal year to the civil legal services fund.

Establishes that the civil legal services fund consists of appropriations from amounts deposited under AS 09.17.020(j) and court filing fees, but does not create a dedicated fund.

Directs appropriations from the fund to organizations providing civil legal services to low-income individuals.

Defines "low-income individual" as someone with an income equal to or less than 125 percent of the current federal poverty guidelines for Alaska set by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
