Amends AS 08.48.055(a) to require the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development to employ two non-board members: an executive secretary and an investigator for the Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors.

Establishes investigator duties to conduct investigations into alleged violations of the chapter and regulations, conduct investigations based on board complaints, and remain directly responsible to the board while receiving day-to-day administrative supervision from the department.

Grants only the department authority to terminate the investigator's employment.

Amends AS 08.48.091 to change reference from "written examinations" to "examinations" for professional licensure testing held at least once annually.
