AK HB19

Adds sexual orientation and gender identity or expression as protected classes under Alaska's civil rights law across employment, housing, credit, and public accommodations.

Defines "gender identity or expression" as having or being perceived as expressing a gender, self-image, appearance, or behavior regardless of whether it differs from the sex assigned at birth.

Defines "sexual orientation" as heterosexuality, homosexuality, and bisexuality.

Extends anti-discrimination protections to all sectors covered by existing civil rights statutes, including employment practices, real estate transactions, financial institutions, and state government services.

Requires the State Commission for Human Rights to study discrimination problems and publish research findings related to sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.
