Local school boards must adopt policies allowing parents to object to and withdraw children from standards-based assessments, tests, activities, or classes involving human reproduction or sexual matters.

School districts must provide parents written notification 2-6 weeks before any activity, class, or program involving human reproduction or sexual matters and obtain written parental permission for each separate instance.

Parents may withdraw children from activities, classes, programs, or assessments for religious holidays as defined by the parent, and such absences are not considered unlawful absences.

School districts and contracted educational services organizations are prohibited from contracting with abortion services providers and cannot permit abortion services providers or their employees or volunteers to teach or provide materials related to human sexuality or sexually transmitted diseases.

School districts may not administer questionnaires or surveys inquiring into personal or private family affairs without written parental permission, and parents must be given advance opportunity to review surveys and written notice of how results will be used and who has access to them.
