Increases minimum school term from 180 to 190 days in session for public school districts.

Raises minimum instruction hours for kindergarten and first grade from 740 to 780 hours.

Raises minimum instruction hours for grades two through 12 from 900 to 1,000 hours.

Applies the same 190-day minimum requirement to private schools operating under AS 14.45.100 - 14.45.130.

Takes effect July 1, 2018, and applies to collective bargaining agreements and school employment contracts effective after June 30, 2018.
