Legislators become ineligible for salary after the first 90 consecutive days of a regular legislative session unless a bill fully funding an operating budget has been passed by the legislature.

Legislators lose eligibility for daily per diem allowances after the 90-day period if an operating budget bill has not been passed, continuing until a budget bill passes or the next regular legislative session begins.

The Alaska Legislative Council must adopt a per diem and moving expense reimbursement policy that applies equally to all legislators.

Compensation recommendations from the state commission are subject to the new salary and per diem restrictions in AS 24.10.100(b) and 24.10.130(b).
