CSHB 67(L&C) - Product Warranties and Services Summary

• Manufacturers must provide standard written warranties through dealers or distributors to ultimate purchasers, with manufacturers remaining responsible for contractor compliance with warranty obligations.

• Dealers and distributors must deliver operation manuals, disclose all warranty terms and disclaimers, provide warranty service according to manufacturer specifications, and submit reimbursement claims using manufacturer-established procedures.

• Manufacturers must reimburse dealers and distributors at the highest of: customary customer rates, manufacturer's printed flat rate, or industry flat rate manuals, plus minimum one-hour administration fee per claim and all transportation/lodging costs.

• Manufacturers must pay properly submitted warranty claims within 30 days or the claim is automatically accepted; unpaid claims accrue interest at 1.5 percent monthly.

• If defective products cannot be repaired after reasonable attempts (three repairs or 30+ days out of service), manufacturers must replace the product or refund the full purchase price minus depreciation calculated over seven years.
