Amends AS 09.20.030(b) to allow teachers to claim exemption from jury duty during the school term.

Defines "teacher" as a person serving a school district in a classroom teaching capacity who is required to hold a teaching certificate for the position.

Removes the previous restriction limiting the exemption to teachers in low-performing schools designated under State Board of Education regulations.

Establishes that the amendment indirectly amends Rule 15(l), Alaska Rules of Administration, by creating an additional cause for jury service excusal.

Takes effect only if Section 2 receives a two-thirds majority vote in each house of the Alaska Legislature as required by the Alaska Constitution.
