Urges the American Psychiatric Association to change the term "post-traumatic stress disorder" (PTSD) to "post-traumatic stress injury" (PTSI) in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders

Requests that the Alaska governor support usage of the term "post-traumatic stress injury" and that Alaska's Congressional delegation champion this terminology change at the federal level

Designates June 27, 2016, as Post-Traumatic Stress Injury Awareness Day to increase awareness and support for affected individuals while reducing stigma

Asserts that post-traumatic stress is a treatable and reparable brain injury, not a permanent mental disorder, and notes the current terminology discourages people from seeking medical treatment

Encourages the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs and Department of Health and Social Services to continue educating service members, veterans, abuse victims, and the public about causes, symptoms, and treatment of post-traumatic stress injury
