House Resolve 7 - Arctic OCS Support for Oil & Gas Leases

• Opposes the Obama Administration's October 16, 2015 decision to cancel future outer continental shelf oil and gas lease sales in the Chukchi Sea and Beaufort Sea Planning Areas scheduled for 2016 and 2017

• Urges the United States Department of the Interior to include Chukchi Sea and Beaufort Sea lease sales in the 2017-2022 Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program

• Urges the Obama Administration to support responsible offshore oil and gas development in the Arctic Outer Continental Shelf and acknowledge Alaskan support for such development

• Cites Alaska's official Arctic policy supporting economically vibrant communities through development, estimates of 23 billion barrels and 104.41 trillion cubic feet of undiscovered recoverable resources in the region, and Alaska's over 50 years of experience managing Arctic development

• Directs copies be sent to the President, Vice President, Secretary of Interior, and Alaska's congressional delegation
