SB 157 - Arcade-Style Amusement Devices

• Amends the definition of "gambling" to exclude playing amusement devices that confer only immediate replay rights with no monetary exchange or cancellation methods.

• Adds new categories of excluded amusement devices: those awarding tickets, credits, or tokens redeemable for toys, candy, or electronic novelties at the same facility, and claw machines where players manipulate the device to receive merchandise directly.

• Excludes amusement devices from the definition of "gambling device" under Alaska statute.

• Defines "amusement device" to include arcade-style games, pinball machines, novelty arcade games, sports-themed games, shuffleboard tables, claw machines, pool tables, shooting galleries, and bowling.

• Excludes casino-style games, draw games, slot machines, roulette wheels, craps, and video poker from the amusement device classification.
