Adds AS 09.65.083 to provide immunity for employees and members of nonprofit and university fire departments from tort or breach of contract lawsuits based on acts or omissions in executing department functions.

Nonprofit and university fire departments themselves are immune from tort or breach of contract actions unless the action alleges intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or is based on duties performed under contract with a private entity.

Immunity granted by this section is in addition to any other immunities under existing law.

Municipalities and villages retain authority to maintain actions against contractors, vendors, or suppliers providing services or goods to them.

Defines "nonprofit or university fire department" as a fire department registered with the state fire marshal that is either university-operated or a nonprofit providing services under contract with a municipality or village.
