Proclaims April 2016 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Alaska.

Documents that an estimated 33.1 out of every 100 Alaska women have experienced sexual assault within their lifetime based on the 2015 Alaska Victimization Survey.

Notes that over 2,056 children were evaluated by child advocacy centers for possible sexual abuse and 1,398 adult victims sought services at rape crisis centers in the previous year.

Encourages Alaska residents to observe the month by speaking out against sexual assault, listening to those who have been harmed, and making clear that sexual assault will not be tolerated.

Highlights state sexual violence prevention efforts including Sexual Assault Response Team training in 16 communities, implementation of the Fourth R healthy relationships curriculum in schools, and evidence-based prevention programs such as Girls on the Run, Coaching Boys into Men, and Green Dot Alaska.
