HB 177 Summary

• Department of Administration shall provide aquatic invasive species information in pamphlet form to persons registering boats.

• Department of Fish and Game may use chemical, biological, mechanical, or physical methods to control or eradicate aquatic invasive species consistent with state and federal law.

• Aquatic invasive species response activities receive priority over other departmented-regulated activities in affected areas, and the commissioner may summarily open or close seasons or areas to aid response.

• Establishes the aquatic invasive species response fund in the general fund with appropriations to pay for response and eradication efforts, with no requirement for further appropriation or lapse of funds.

• Commissioner of Transportation and Public Facilities shall provide aquatic invasive species information to persons purchasing ferry tickets for transporting vessels into the state.
