• Amends AS 08.64 to prohibit requiring physicians to obtain "maintenance of certification" (proprietary programs involving periodic testing, self-assessment, or peer evaluation) as a condition of licensure, reimbursement, employment, or hospital admitting privileges in Alaska.

• Extends the same prohibition to osteopaths regarding "osteopathic continuous certification" programs.

• Amends AS 18.20 to prohibit hospitals from revoking, suspending, conditioning, restricting, or refusing to grant hospital privileges based on a physician's or osteopath's failure to participate in or secure these certification programs.

• Defines both "maintenance of certification" and "osteopathic continuous certification" as proprietary programs requiring periodic testing, self-assessment, peer evaluation, or similar activities to maintain specialty certifications.
