HB 280 Summary

• Extends the termination date of the Board of Marital and Family Therapy from June 30, 2018 to June 30, 2026

• Authorizes the State Medical Board's executive secretary to grant licenses to physicians, osteopaths, and podiatrists who meet requirements and have no disqualifying factors such as negotiated settlements, judgments, or suspended/revoked licenses

• Allows the board to designate members or staff to issue temporary permits to medical applicants and permits to substitute physicians and osteopaths

• Creates new authority for physicians, podiatrists, osteopaths, and physician assistants to delegate routine medical duties to unlicensed agents, except for pain management and opioid-related duties

• Takes effect January 1, 2019, except provisions relating to the Board of Marital and Family Therapy termination date which take effect immediately
