Employers must grant leave of absence to state residents who are members of the National Guard of another state, territory, or district to perform active National Guard service under that state's law.

Employees released from active National Guard service in another state are entitled to return to their former position or comparable position with the same pay, seniority, and benefit level they would have had if absent.

Employees must report for work at the beginning of the workday following the last calendar day needed to travel from the National Guard service site to their work site, or face standard employer discipline for unexcused absence.

Employers are not required to rehire employees if the employer's circumstances have changed making employment impossible or unreasonable, or if employment would impose undue hardship on the employer.

Defines "state" as having the meaning given in AS 01.10.060 for purposes of this section.
