Lowers the minimum age for possessing concealed deadly weapons from 21 to 18 years old under AS 11.61.220(a).

Allows 18-year-olds to possess concealed deadly weapons (other than ordinary pocket knives or defensive weapons) if they immediately inform peace officers upon contact and comply with weapon securement.

Reduces the minimum age from 21 to 18 for possessing unloaded firearms in vehicle trunks or closed containers at child care facilities under AS 11.61.220(a)(4)(A).

Amendments apply retroactively to offenses committed before, on, or after the effective date of the act.

Maintains existing restrictions on weapon possession in schools, courtrooms, courthouses, and domestic violence shelters.
