HB 45 - Equal Pay and Living Wage Act

• Establishes an annual report due January 15 each year analyzing pay practices by election district, including compensation equity by protected characteristics and whether wages support a family of four with two children.

• Increases Alaska's minimum wage to $15.00 per hour effective January 1, 2018, with annual adjustments thereafter based on 100 percent of the Consumer Price Index for the Anchorage metropolitan area, rounded to the nearest cent.

• Requires the Department of Labor and the State Commission for Human Rights to consult and collaborate on preparing the annual fair pay practices report.

• Applies the $15.00 minimum wage increase only to contracts made on or after July 1, 2017.

• Takes effect July 1, 2017.
