Proclaims April 2018 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Alaska and encourages state residents to take action to prevent sexual violence.

Notes that an estimated 33.1 out of every 100 Alaska women have experienced sexual assault in their lifetime, and Alaska has the highest rates of sexual violence in the nation.

Documents that 2,126 children were evaluated by child advocacy centers for possible sexual abuse in 2016, and 1,625 adult victims sought services at rape crisis centers in 2016.

Recognizes 16 Alaska communities operating sexual assault response teams and cites evidence-based prevention programs including Girls on the Run, Coaching Boys into Men, Fourth R curriculum, and Green Dot Alaska.

Acknowledges that over 3,100 volunteers devoted 48,483 hours of service in 2016 to support sexual assault victims, survivors, and their families.
