AK HJR26

Requires the Redistricting Board to establish a nonpartisan statewide district map and changes house district population tolerance from "as near as practicable" to within 2.5% of the state population divided by 40.

Expands the Redistricting Board from 5 to 5-9 members consisting of 2 members from the largest political party, 2 from the second largest, and 1 independent member selected by the four party-affiliated members by October 1 or by the Alaska Supreme Court by December 31 if they cannot agree.

Prohibits board members from having held positions with political parties, having been elected officials, or contributed more than $200 to single candidates in the previous four years or money to election-influencing groups in the previous five years.

Changes board action requirements from a three-member majority to a majority of all board members (ranging from 3 out of 5 to 5 out of 9 depending on board size).

Requires voter approval of these constitutional amendments at the next general election.
