AK SB138

Amends AS 24.10.130 to establish per diem allowance policies based on the federal rate set by the United States Department of Defense.

For regular sessions, legislators residing more than 100 miles from the capital receive 80 percent of federal rate for the first 90 days and 65 percent for days 91-121; legislators 50-100 miles away receive 50 percent of those respective rates.

For special sessions, legislators more than 100 miles away receive 80 percent of federal rate (or 50 percent of 80 percent if no fully funded budget passed by day 121), and those 50-100 miles away receive 50 percent of 80 percent (or 25 percent of 80 percent under the same budget condition).

Prohibits per diem payments to legislators whose principal residence is 50 miles or less from the session location.
