SB 152 Summary

• Establishes September 11 of each year as Patriot Day to commemorate the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001, and honor those who died, were injured, and first responders who gave their lives during the attacks

• Directs the governor to fly the Alaska flag at half-mast on Patriot Day

• Allows civic groups and the public to observe Patriot Day with suitable observances and exercises

• Establishes June 27 of each year as Post-Traumatic Stress Injury Awareness Day to promote awareness of persons suffering from post-traumatic stress injury and encourage Alaskans to provide support and eliminate stigma

• Allows civic groups and the public to observe Post-Traumatic Stress Injury Awareness Day with suitable observances and exercises
