CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 192(STA) - Summary

• Adds a new requirement to voter registration forms allowing applicants to elect whether their residential and mailing addresses will be kept confidential under AS 15.07.195.

• Applicants may indicate their confidentiality choice either by making a statement to a registration official or by marking a box on the registration form.

• Establishes fixed fees for obtaining voter registration lists: $100 per senate district or $1,500 for the statewide list, replacing the previous director-determined fee structure.

• Applies the same confidentiality protections to electronic records containing both residence and mailing addresses of voters as to the voters' individual requests under AS 15.07.195.

• Requires the division of elections to maintain confidentiality of mailing addresses substituted from the permanent fund dividend program to the same extent voters requested address confidentiality.
