Groups controlled by legislators are prohibited from soliciting or accepting contributions for election purposes while the legislature is in regular or special session.

Registered lobbyists are prohibited from contributing to legislative candidates or legislator-controlled groups while registered and for one year after registration, with exceptions for contributions in their home voting district.

Registered lobbyists may contribute to candidates in their own voting district but must report such contributions to the Alaska Public Offices Commission, with representational lobbyists exempted from all contribution restrictions.
