Amends Alaska law to modify the crime of misconduct involving weapons in the fifth degree by adding a new provision prohibiting persons from concealing a firearm inside a vehicle and failing to inform a peace officer or allow the officer to secure it during contact.

Repeals subsection (5) of the misconduct involving weapons statute, removing one category of prohibited conduct.

Prohibits persons under 21 years of age from knowingly possessing any concealed deadly weapon other than an ordinary pocket knife or defensive weapon.

Maintains existing prohibitions on concealed deadly weapons in residences without permission, loaded firearms where liquor is sold for consumption, and firearms in child care facilities, courtrooms, and domestic violence shelters.

Effective date of July 1, 2017, with the amended statute applying only to offenses committed on or after that date.
